Writted by: Coach Art

Congratulations to the LSO Swimmers for another successful conference championship meet.  We finished in 3rd Place, narrowly beating out Portage, Michigan City and Union Township.

A special congratulation goes out to the 8 & Under Boys who finished the meet as Conference Champions.

The following swimmers broke team records at the meet;

Eric Wallace                     8 & Under Boys      100          Breast
Jared Vander Woude         8 & Under Boys       25           Fly
Jamiere Wilson                 9 – 10 Boys            50 & 100 Breast & 50 Fly
Jake Miller                       13 – 14 Boys         100           Free
John Sommer                  15 & Over Boys        50 & 100 Free

Congratulations to the following swimmers who were Conference Champions in their individual events;

MacKenzie Torphy               25 & 50  Free,   25 Back
Bailey Young                              25  Breast, 25 Fly
Jared Vander woude           50 & 200 Free,   100 Back, 25 Fly
Jamiere Wilson                50 & 100   Breast, 200 IM

I was very pleased with the way we swam at Conference. 55% of our swims were all time bests.  That is a great accomplishment.
As I stated in the opening paragraph, Portage, Michigan City and Union Township were all very close to us at the conclusion of the meet.  Therefore, if we want to keep our streak of 3rd place finishes going,  we will have to work even harder next season.  There is no doubt in my mind that you guys are capable of rising to that challenge.  Enjoy the summer and be ready to work hard in September.
